| Big one this, essential we win all our home games if we want to gain promotion. Sligo will be tough, the were unlucky not to beat Antrim away and they put Louth to the sword despite being a man down for most of the second half, and not forgetting how they should have beaten Kerry in the qualifiers last year. Still we are normally pretty good down in Wexford Park and if Jason actually puts out the best team available I’d be pretty confident we could sneak this one. Any news on the injury front? Anyone else out apart from long term casualties such as Morrissey, Matty etc. |

No news yet, Boro, but hopefully the lads can keep up the momentum of the Offaly game and stay in touch with the promotion race.
But why oh why is the game throwing in at 1 pm ?? Such a ridiculously early start and only one game on the bill, whats going on ?? _________________ Footie Fan |

| I think the game is on at 1 to allow for the long journey back home for Sligo, a bit like last week for the Down hurling game. As for the injuries according to Jason Ryan PJ Banville will definetely be ready and Graham Molloy should be back for the home game with Fermanagh on March 21. We have Cavan away on Sat 13 March at 7:30pm, again a bit strange, It wouldn't be on the telly by any chance would it? |

Wexford Team:
Anthony Masterson, Joey Wadding, David Walsh, Brian Malone, Niall Murphy, David Murphy, Aindreas Doyle, Eric Bradley, Daithí Waters, Pat Naughter, Redmond Barry, Adrian Flynn, Ciarán Lyng, Shane Roche, Ben Brosnan
Definitely a team for the dry sod. If they get the right kind of ball that full forward line has the potential for a lot of scores. My only worry would be that the team looks a bit light physically, but I suppose if we keep the ball moving fast and the weather stays good we should go well. Go wan the yella bellies... |

I thought it might be to facilitate them, ok. But we have been to many away games, Sligo 2008 included, and I cant recall any of them having an early throw-in to facilitate us !!
As for the Cavan game, they are playing their home games on Saturday nights since they installed a very good lighting system 2 years ago. It will be a novelty for us to have a competitive game under lights. _________________ Footie Fan |

Solid 7 point win today..
Thought Niall Murf did an excellent job on David Kelly and Eric Bradley was an all action figure out around the middle.
I know he got substituted but Pat Naughter looks like he has the potenial to be a very good player. |

| Awful game. Didnt score a point from play in for 60 minutes. We were bad but Sligo were even worse. Shane Roache started well but supply was poor into him. Bradley had a good first half but went out of it in second half. Half forward line was awful. Brosnan was unlucky had to go but hit yer man an awful slap. Yer man slipped when Brosnan tried to box the ball out of his arms but unfortunately cracked him straight in the jaw. A win is a win but serious problems. Ah well all roads lead to Cavan. |

A pretty dire game but we'll take the two points and move on. Wexford had a lot of possession in the first half but it wasn't used very well. And when the inside forwards got the chance, the shooting was poor. But the second half was dreadful. Wexford seemed to drop the intensity and Sligo were even worse than the first half.
Maybe I'm being overly critical and we should be happy with the win. But a poor game on a bitterly cold day in front of a small crowd with no atmosphere...............................................ah feic it, who cares, we won _________________ Footie Fan |

| We'd all have taken 7 pts win at the start. I thought our defending was very disciplined. Was it me or was the ref too fond of the whistle? Big game in Cavan now. They havn't had a great scoring average in the last few years and if we defend like we did v Sligo and take more of our chances we can win. Big improvements still needed, bit too wasteful of possession we have still. Morrissey, Banville, Molloy and one or two others to come back still so as they say things can only get better. |
